Schedule drivers and assign routes, training, and testing as well as oversee the loading and unloading of vehicles. May provide classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training according to the company’s driver safety and training program. Assist with development, enhancement and implementation of policies and procedures. Assist with maintaining staffing levels. Counsel employees on incident and injury prevention. Investigate incidents and “near miss” occurrences to determine preventable and/or non-preventable cause. Maintain manual and electronic documents, files and records for auditing purposes. Ensure work is being performed in compliance with company standards as well as local, state, and/or federal guidelines and regulations. Responsible for managing trucking fleet operations, including, but not limited to oversight of administration, driver dispatching and scheduling, vehicle and equipment maintenance, safety, and licensing.
